The pros and cons of flat irons can be determined by the functions and uses of the flat iron. The straightening irons work by breaking down the hydrogen bonds inside the hair. These hydrogen bonds cause the bending of hair and when the hair curls down. A good thing about the straightening irons today is that it has a ceramic element that is responsible in the heating process. A pro to this type of iron is that it generates negative ions thus it allows the hair to straighten up without actually damaging the hair. It does not strip the moisture in it. Another advantage is for the stylist or those that are professional because the flat iron quickly heats up thus making it easy for them to work on a hairstyle. It is also very handy and the high temperature can stay for long.
The pros and cons of flat irons will depend on the type of iron used and how the stylist of individual would use it. One disadvantage would be that other flat irons do not have heat up settings that will be very difficult for them especially to the stylist that is keeping up a time management table since they will have many costumers in one day. When the flat iron is used the wrong way, then there will be a possibility that you can burn the hair so it is needed that the one who will use and handle the straightening iron should know how to correctly follow the method in using the iron.
