2) Put your hair in a tight ponytail, sliding your scrunchy or rubber band (which ever you choose to use) all the way down your ponytail to your desired point of trim. If you chose to trim of an inch, then put your rubberband an inch away from the bottom of the ends of your hair.
3) Now get a partner to cut directly across at the point of the rubber band to achieve the straight across trim.
Another way of doing this is to part your hair and even it out in front of you and hold your hair straight forward. Use your fingers to guide wear you are to trim and simply match up the to sides. If you chose to trim off 1/4th off your hair, then guide your fingers to that measurement towards your ends and cut from there.
