Facial hair is not for everyone, but for those who choose to shape up there facial hair or have a clean facial hair appearance, there are plenty of ways to get this done. Facial hair can be clean up to look well ‘cleaned up’ or can be cleaned up to give a rugged look. We have a few tips on shaving and cleaning up facial hair for men to help reduce the risk of razor bumps and get that clean look if your looking to do this yourself.
1) Apply shaving lotion after shaving. Doing this will reduce the redness that occur when shaving.
2) Make sure you always use a clean blade when shaving with a razor.
3) Replace the rotary blades every few months when using an electric razor. The more you shave, the more you will have to replace your hair.
4) Do not stretch your skin when shaving as this will cause discoloration and darkness of underlying tissue.
5) If you can, give up on razors and use depilitories. This work well with some skin types but not all. It removes facial hair in a matter of minutes.
6) Watch what you eat, fatty foods can cause your hair to be more susceptable to to damage while shaving.
7) When shaving with a handheld razor always shave in the direction of the hair growth. Since most hair on men faces slant downward, that would be the best direction to shave.
