Female Hair Loss and Baldness
Question: I think I am going through female hair loss. How would I know if I am?
Answer: Female hair loss may happen for a variety of reasons, but one of the most common reasons is called PCOS also known polycystic ovarian syndrome. This is when excessively high levels of androgen are produced. Women who are experiencing PCOS, also experience thinning hair and even facial hair that may seem that is thick.
Other reasons why women may experience hair loss could be due to pregancy, birth control side effects, postmenopausal trauma, menopause and any other type of hormonal imbalance.
Most of the time, you can recover from female hair loss by simply letting time go by and taking proper care of your hair. But if enough time has gone by, you may need to seek your medical doctor for a solution that may even be an over the counter treatment.
