Grey Hair At An Early Age

Grey Hair Short Grey Hair Hair Styles

Grey Hair is typically associated with stress or aging. Yet more and more people at a much younger age are experiencing grey hair and not understanding where it is coming from.

To understand why 20 somethings and even teens are experiencing grey hair or patches of grey hair, we must understand the root of the problem and concidently the root of the problem starts at the root of the hair. At each hair root there is a hair follicle that contains a number of pigment cells that produce melanin. Melanin is what gives the hair shaft its color. When the hair shafts stops producing the melanin, the strand of hair will have very little pigment to go over its normally transparent hue and the hair will present itself as grey, white or silver.

Generally speaking, grey hair can come because of many reasons such as age, genetics, lack of melanin, gender and even ethnicity.
