Hair Care in a Recession
Although times may be tough on the pockets, it doesn’t have to be when it comes to hair care. This is the perfect time for many to learn how to take care of your hair yourself. If you temporarily can no longer afford to go to the hairdresser every weekend, then it may be time to learn some ‘do it yourself’ techniques. If you like to go to the hair salon for a simple wash and set, then think about doing that yourself or find a reliable friend.
A wash and set is very easy to achieve. A lot of times we maybe able to do a style ourselves but we are just paying for the pampering. Other times we just don’t know how to do the hairstyles we envision.
Washing the hair is self explanatory. Simply use your desired shampoo that doesn’t completely strip your hair of its natural oils but cleans your hair and scalp. You do not need to rinse and repeat as many shampoos suggest. That is just wasting shampoo as well as stripping the oils off your hair cuticles. After washing your hair, apply a deep conditioner to your hair and let stay for 20 minutes or more depending on the dryness of your hair. Rinse the conditioner out with warm water then do the last 2 minutes of rinsing with cold water to seal the hair cuticles. Then if you desire a curly style, place your hair in rollers and sit under the dryer to get a head full of curls. After your curls are dry, apply a small amount of conditioning oil and finger style your hair to you desired style. If you choose to have your straight, apply a heat protectant to your hair and flat iron your hair. Once your hair is flat ironed to your liking, add a little bit of shine serum to finish your look.
