How To Bleach Hair At Home Safely
Whenever there is a thought of going for blond locks, we automatically think of bleaching the hair because that is what will get us to the results that we desire. Whether your bleaching your hair to blond or red from a dark hair color, understand that you are running the risk of damaging your hair. If you are bleaching your hair yourself, you must be extremely careful to follow the directions. It is recommend that you seek a professional as doing this wrong will not only damage your hair but also can damage your skin.
Before you choose to bleach consider the following:
- That doing it yourself you run the risk of ruining your hair and your skin
- If you have naturally dark hair, you will have to remember it will take several treatments which in the end could damage your hair
- If your hair already has coloring already, you will need to remove the color before getting a bleaching treatment
- If you had any type of chemical service done, you will have to wait a few weeks before bleaching
-You should understand that bleaching will cause some damage to the hair
Now that your about to bleach here are some steps you should take:
- Gather your bleaching kit and make sure you have read the instucutions and have all the required instruments needed to bleach
- Make sure you are using a reputable brand
-If you can, have a reliable friend help you
- A few days before bleaching, try doing a patch test on your strand that is inconspicuous and see how that turns out. Make sure you are not allergic
- The night before bleaching, make sure you have washed and conditioned your hair
- Wear a towel and gloves and apply petroleum around your hair line and ears
- Start from the back of your hair and try to move in 1/2 sections, working quickly but moving forward as well as the back tends to be the darkest part
- Work on applying the bleach to the roots last so that it does not burn your hair or scalp
-Once the hair is covered with bleach, apply a plastic cap around the head and leave on as directed
-Do not leave the bleach on longer then directed. If you feel any pressure or pain, rinse the bleach out immediately as it is more then likely doing damage to your scalp
-Rinse out and shampoo as normal
- Never bleach your eyebrows or eyelashes, this can and will cause blindness
- If you need to bleach again, give it a few days before trying to bleach
- Keep hair conditioned as now hair is susceptible to dryness and extreme breakage. Pump up the moisture game.
