How to Untangle Matted Hair Yourself
Matting can happen at anytime, especially when hair is left uncared for. Getting rid of matted hair is an extremely tedious and exhausting. For some women especially women with curly hair, it is easier to cut the hair that is matted then to deal with it. For those who do not want to cut there hair and are willing to do the work here are a quick few steps for unmatting hair:
1) Gather your materials needed which would be a wide tooth comb and a small tooth comb as well as a good detangler such as a leave in conditioner detangler as well as a good conditioning moisturising oil such as coconut oil, Moroccan oil, or olive oil.
2) Spray the matted area of the hair with a your detangler making sure to not rub the hair as you may make the matting worse by doing this
3)Once you have saturated the part of the hair you are going to work on, take your wide tooth comb and work from the ends of your hair to the scalp taking small steps a millimeter or centimeter at a time. Once you are able to comb through your hair with your wide tooth comb, use your small tooth comb to try to comb through your hair. Keep saturating your matted hair until you are able to comb completely through your hair.
Doing this process will require extreme patience and if you feel your arms hurt, you may want to get the help of a friend. If you cannot take out the tangling hair at all you may have to use some hair scissors and make small snips at a time. Take one snip and comb through and keep doing that until you can comb through.
