Answer: Mineral Oil is a derivative of crude oil also known as petrolum oil that is normally used as a cutting oil and lubricating oil. Mineral oil coats the hair and acts as a shield to the hair preventing moisture penetrate into the hair shaft. It prevents the hair from “breathing.”  It acts as like a plastic wrap covering. No moisture can come into the hair will dry out. Avoid mineral oil at all cost.
