The Pros and Cons in Choosing to use over the Counter Products
As many of us would love to use professional products for our hair, the reality of it is many of us cannot get in reach of these products without having a license or were to scared to misapply it on our heads, or we simply cannot afford to pay professional prices. What we must understand when it comes to many of the over the counter products, is that pricey does not always equal high quality. For some, many people feel that most of the inexpensive nourishing shampoos are often the best for them. When looking for a shampoo, we are often looking for that commercial looking shampoo that will change our experience of washing our hair and make your hair thick and strong and shiny from inside out. The problem with that is that there is no shampoo that can do that for your hair. Shampoos do not change the internal structure of your. It just merely cleanses the outside part of your hair. So if your looking to change the internal structure of your hair, the only way to do that is to eat right and exercise to ensure your hair gets the proper nutrients.
Because many customers want the salon/commercial look and feel, many hair product manufacturers have started to use ingredients that do not necessarily cleanse the hair, but coat the hair strand. Doing this, the consumer believes in the product because their hair feels much slicker and softer and remains till the next wash. The feeling that the consumer is feeling is the build up of these materials which cause extreme hair breakage, the inability of the hair to hold a curl and other problems.
So when it comes to buying over the counter products, check the ingredients and see if they compliment your hair or have any dangerous compounds that would not work for your hair. When purchasing non-professional products, understand that product build up should be a primary concern. Although you may get a conditioner that may condition as well as a professional product, you can find one that still does a good job without doing damage. Staying clear of hairsprays and gels that cause build up is also great.
You can still give good at home hair treatment and get good quality results with over the counter products and save money.<–>
