Understanding the Power of Deep Conditioning
Deep conditioning is very essential in having healthy hair. Deep conditioning is one of the most important ways to moisturize your hair especially if you have dry hair and your not applying moisture to your hair is not done on a regular basis. When deep conditioning is done properly, hair does not have to be moisturized that often.
Deep conditioning adds moisture to hair that has lost its moisture due to daily activites and styling products. Hair conditioners add shine, moisture and softness to hair. If there is one thing you want to incorporate into your hair regiment, it would be deep conditioning.
How to deep condition your hair:
- It is best to deep condition your hair after your hair has been freshly washed. Although you do not need your hair to be washed each time to deep condition your hair, it is still favored to deep condition on clean hair.
- Apply your choice of your deep conditioner all over your hair, trying to get it to all your hair strands. You can do this by using your fingers or a wide tooth shower comb.
- Apply a shower cap over your hair and sit under a dryer for 20 minutes or longer (depending on how dry your hair is). If you choose, you can leave a deep conditioner in your hair over night and rinse out the next morning without heat. After coming up from under the dryer, let the hair withstand for 5 minutes to allow the hair shaft to close.
-Rinse the hair about 80%
-Do a final rinse with cold water on the hair to seal the hair shaft
-Let your hair dry perferably by airdrying or a rollerset
