Ways to Minimize Damage When Using a Blow Dryer
If air drying is not for you or you are trying to make an easy transistion from blowdrying to air drying, there are a few things you must know. If you must use a blowdryer, to avoid or minimize damage done to the hair strands, here are a few….
1) Use a thermal heat protectant to minimize heat damage
2) Use the setting cool on your hair strands whenever possible
3) Try not to blow dry your hair 100%. At most, it is better to dry the hair at 85%-90% and let the rest of your hair air dry.
4) If you decide to blowdry your hair, only use a blow dryer as your heating product. Step away from tools such as flat irons and curling irons.
5)Invest in a hair dryer that has more then two to three hair settings to give you control of the air being applied to your hair
6) Drink lots of water to moisturize the hair and get it ready for the times you do chose to blow dry. This way your hair will be lubricated from root to the outside.
7) Eat healthy and take in the proper nutrients and vitamins that your hair needs to keep your hair strong and damage resistant.
