Ways to Protect Your Hair’s Ends

endsCombing through Wet Hair Ends

In order to have healthy, good looking ends, it is important to avoid breakage at your ends. Your ends put the polishing touch on your hair’s appearance. It is very common to see ends looking frazzled, dry and brittle on hair that hasn’t been taken care of. The ends of your hair are the oldest parts of your hair and is the most important part of your hair since this is the part of your hair that requires more attention. The ends of your hair has been exposed to more then any other part of your hair. It may have been exposed to heat, chemical jobs, dye jobs, and wear and tear from rubbing against clothing and other harmful fabrics to your delicate ends.

To protect your ends, consider….

- Not tying up your buns with tight rubber bands that can damage the hair ends, consider using a clip instead

-Keep ends moisturized

-Keep your ends away from heating tools such as flat irons and such. If heating tools must be used, make sure to apply a heat protectant and not heat up the hair to hot

-Avoid having your hair ends rub against rough clothing fabrics such as cottons that tag and hold on to you hair ends and eventually cause your ends to break off

Keeping your hair ends is an important part in hair growth. If you are trying to grow out your hair to a much longer length and do not see a change, it may be due to your ends breaking off due to the factors mentioned.  No, your hair did not stop growing. Hair is always growing, but your ends breaking off does not reflect in your hair’s growth.
